Why Amazon Had This Book for 99 Cents I'll Never Know!
I was desperate for a good book to read.
I hoped that maybe our local Barnes and Noble was doing curb-side pickup, but they weren’t. (Sometimes, I like the physical copy in my hands. Do you feel the same?)
The next best option was the Kindle, and, for 99 cents, I found a gem of a thriller.
The Boy in the Photo by Nicole Trope.

IT. WAS. SO. GOOD!
Captivating, really. At 6 years of age, Megan’s son Daniel was kidnapped by her maniacal former husband. Daniel was nowhere to be found and for years, Megan would hold his “blankie” as a reminder of the son she so desperately missed.
It was his treasured safety device. Warm and comforting.
I'm only sharing this part because it's revealed in the first chapter but...
Her son came back years later! (SORRY!)
Long story somewhat bearable, lots had changed for both with Megan and her son.
And it took some time because Daniel was now an adolescent and wanted to appear too old for his comfort “blankie”. But over time he relented. He gravitated back to something that made him so comfortable.
[I promise – there is much more to the book than I’m describing here!]
Anyway, I believe we all want safety in our lives.
Certainly, during the Covid 19 period, but also in normal times as well.
Safety for our families, safety for our children and, later in life, safety in retirement.
That’s why as a retirement strategist, I believe so desperately in 3 simple words:
Safety, Simplicity and Strength.
Safety is first because without that feeling, does anything else really matter?
