Hello and thank you for visiting mySECURiMENT.com. By the way, by reading this far you have undoubtedly read further than my 3 sons. They think SECURiMENT is silly, but you shouldn’t. This is the race of your life after all! 

My goal as a retirement strategist is for your retirement savings to last as long as you do. I say that a little “tongue and cheek” but many studies show that future retirees are more afraid of running out of money than they are of actually passing away...

Before we get started, please allow me to share a new term with you: SECURiMENT.

SECURiMENT - is retirement, but with security. It’s feeling secure and, because this may seem abstract, I urge you to consider what this concept might mean for you.

What does it mean to feel secure? Does it mean that you might feel at ease in retirement? At ease, now, because your future is secure?

When reviewing a retirement plan, you can strip away all the individual variables. The various risks and investment choices. Tax brackets and rates of return. Measures of inflation, insurance policies or ways to protect your principal. Those are all just tools, or words, or concepts or solutions with one specific outcome in mind. For you to feel good. For you to have peace of mind in retirement. 

My experience (and research) suggests that as you approach the line that separates work from play, at the core, you just want to feel good. Your mind at ease. Less needless worry. More restful nights. The feeling of confidence. Of feeling assured - that it will all be OK. That your future is planned and that you will be taken care of. That you can take a deep breath. 

SECURiMENT is like financial wellness. (You already have a fitbit for your physical fitness!)

Do you want this feeling? It’s what I want in my life - for sure! I wish I could bottle it up for you but it’s not quite that easy. The concepts covered on this site will help you achieve SECURiMENT

Not running out of money in retirement is risky (and tricky) business. There are no bailouts, do-overs or mulligans. And here in Illinois - it’s even harder. Local taxes are terrible. Overall, it’s very expensive to live, work and retire here. What’s at risk are the fruits of a lifetime of your hard work. You deserve the best possible outcome.
